How many times has this happened to you? You find a pesky spider in your laundry room and you want to kill it, but you don’t have a newspaper handy, darn the luck! So you grab a lighter and a can of spray paint to get rid of the little bugger, and wouldn’t ya know it, you set your house on fire! Well, that’s what happened to one Seattle man this week.
He set his house ablaze trying to get rid of a spider.
He couldn’t put it out himself, and by the time the fire department got there, significant damage had already been done to the house. The totalestimated cost to repair the house and replace the damaged items inside is $60,000, all over a spider.
Seattle Fire Department’s Kyle Moore had to explain the bleeding obvious afterwards: “There are safer, more effective ways to kill a spider than using fire. Fire is not the method to use to kill a spider.” Hey, we should probably listen to this guy! He seems to know what he’s talking about.
